Kathmandu Projects

For many participants coming out of the airport and stepping off a plane is a joyful experience, craziness of smells, colors, sound and memorable views. Kathmandu being the capital and the largest city in Nepal amazes travelers with its timeless cultural and artistic heritage in hidden temples overflowing with marigolds, courtyards full of drying chillies and rice, and tiny hobbit-sized workshops. Even after the 2015 earthquake which demolished several temples in Kathmandu’s Unesco-listed Durbar Square, still most areas preserved their majestic view. Kathmandu has a lot to offer and keep the travelers busy but make sure you also spend time in our projects as that’s how you will feel the real touch to the country and local people who are always ready to welcome you and make you feel at home. As Nepal is a developing country, we strive to make sure that our programs support the local community and through the service our volunteers can learn about the culture and life-style of the Nepalese people.

Host families are carefully chosen safe accommodation option to ensure cultural immersion as the volunteers can see the local customs and traditions, share food together and see the neighborhood with their hosts. Hosts are generally an extended family but you can come across nuclear families two, so based on the available number of bedrooms, our teammates decide how many participants can stay in one host family.
